Columbian film "The Colours of the Mountains" won the Suvarna Chakoram (Golden Crow Pheasant) at the 16th International Film Festival of Kerala here Friday.The movie ,directed by Carlos Cesar Arbelaez is a portrayal of life hood in the mountainous Columbian countryside.The bagged award competing with 10 other films from Aisa ,Latin America.The award carries a cash prize of Rs 15 lakh and a memento.
The Rajatha Chakoram (Silver Crow Pheasant) for best director went to Iranian Director , Hamid Reza Aligholian for his film 'Flamingo No.13' . The FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Critics) award went to Turkish film 'Future Lasts Forever' by Ozcan Alper and the award for the best debut film to 'A Stone's Throw Away' by Mexican director Sebastian Hiriat. The audience poll award was won by 'The Painting Lesson', Spanish film by Pablo Perelman.
Malayalam movie 'Adaminte Makan Abu ' won The critics award for best Malayalam film went to 'Aadaminte Makan Abu' and also Hasan Kutty award for the best Indian film.
