All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination- 2012 (AIPMT 2012)
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited applications for the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination- 2012 (AIPMT 2012) for admission to the 15% All India Quota seats in the Medical/Dental Colleges of India.The AIPMT prelims will be held on April 1, 2012 followed by the main exam on May 13.
Scheme of Examination :
AIPMT will consist of two stages , preliminary and main examination.
Preliminary Examination: It would consist of one paper of 3 hours duration, containing 200 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only.It will be held from 10 am to 1 pm on 1.4.2012 at Agartala, Ahmedabad, Bangaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Imphal, Itanagar, Jaipur Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Panaji, Patna, Port Blair, Puducherry, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, Trivandrum, and Riyad.
Final Examination (Main) :The AIPMT Final Examination, for those who qualify in the Preliminary Examination, would consist of one paper containing 120 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only.The AIPMT Final Examination, for those who qualify in the Preliminary Examination, to be held from 10 am to 1 pm on 13.5.2012(Sunday), at Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Ranchi.
Examination Details :
Candidates can choose for Question Papers either in English or in Hindi. This option should be made while filling in the Application Form and cannot be changed later.
Mark Information: Each correct answer carries 4 marks and minus mark of 1 for each incorrect choice made. All rough work is to be done in the Test Booklet itself.
Syllabus: The Syllabus is common to both Preliminary and Final Examination and is available in the Information Brochure.
Minimum Mark for qualification: candidates must obtain a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the Entrance examination. SC/ST/OBC category candidates need minimum of 40% marks in Entrance examination to be considered for ranking. Persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs need a minimum of 45% marks for Gen-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH in the Entrance Examination.
Application Fee:
Application Fee without late fee is Rs.1000/- for General/OBC applicants and Rs.550/- for SC/ST/PH applicants. Fee inclusive of the first late fee of Rs.500/- would be Rs.1500/- for General/OBC applicants and Rs.1050/- for SC/ST/PH applicants. Fee inclusive of the first late fee of Rs.1000/- would be Rs.2000/- for General/OBC applicants and Rs.1550/- for SC/ST/PH applicants. In addition to examination fee, service/processing charges will also have to be paid by the applicant for online payment of fee through Debit/Credit Card along with Service Tax, as applicable. Application Procedure:
Application can be submitted only on-line at www.aipmt.nic.in . Applicant can choose the mode of payment of fee, which can be done through Debit/Credit Card using on-line gateway payment facility or through Demand Draft.Demand Draft has to be obtained for the applicable fee from any nationalized bank in the name of Secretary, CBSE payable at Delhi. Applicant must write his/her name, address, contact no. and application no. on the back of the Demand Draft.
Applicant should first log on to website www.aipmt.nic.in and go to the link ‘Apply On-line’ and open the same. He/She must read the instructions and procedure for on-line submission of application form carefully. At the end of the process, Take prints out of Confirmation page(s) and send to CBSE.
The Application Form duly filled-in along with other documents should reach ‘The Deputy Secretary (AIPMT Unit), CBSE, Shiksha Kendra, 2, Community Centre, Preet Vihar, Delhi-110 301’ by Registered Post/Speed Post only so as to reach there latest by 02.02.2012 (if fee is paid without late fee), 15.02.2012 (if fee paid with first late fee) and 02.03.2012 (if fee is paid with second late fee) respectively. Last date of receipt of application form In CBSE from remote areas would be 17.02.2012, 29.02.2012 and 2.03.2012 respectively for the three cases.
