Google recently rolled out a new and appealing interface for Gmail users and it's been drawn wide acceptance from its users.The Gmail redesign is made available to all its user and can switch to it using " Switch to the new look" link appearing in the bottom-right corner of Gmail. All users will get the redesign soon after ,regardless of whether they click the link.For now the new look is purely optional and you can switch right back if you don’t like it.
Revamped version includes bettered features including a much-improved search interface, better customization features and some new high-resolution Gmail themes.

Novel Design
Gmail adopted similar look to Google + and other product that received appreciation. Google have worked on design by eliminating some of the clutter and allowing you to focus more on your actual mail.Buttons are made more appealing by making it gray with sharp edges .A Big red ' Compose Mail' button is easily to be recognized and adds tough of color to the interface.

Elastic Density
Gmail now allows you to choose how much white space you want to see. Options includes the default “Comfortable”( which is quite heavy on the white space),“Cozy” (roughly the same as the old look) and “Compact” ( which squeezes even more messages into list view). The spacing between elements on the screen will automatically change based on the kind of display you’re using. If you prefer a denser view all the time, you can change your density manually in the Settings menu.

Another improvement in the new Gmail is a much better search interface.A dropdown in the search box brings up new advanced search panel, which makes it easier and faster to find exactly what you're looking for.New search form offers to search by From, To, Subject, attachment, Date and more.

The left navigation panel is made more customizable that keeps labels and chat contacts in view at all times. You can resize the labels and chat areas if you want to see more, or hide the chat area entirely via the chat icon in the lower left. You can also use the arrow keys to navigate around the interface.

New Conversation View
Conversation view has been completely redesigned to help you easily read through your email threads. For every previously-read message, the sender and a snippet of text are now separated onto two lines.It includes profile picture ,so that its easier to keep track of sender.

New HD Themes
Google has added charismatic High resolution theme images from iStockphoto.It's no longer blocked off by sidebars and other navigation panels.
