FIFA football awards for 2011 has been announced. Football legend Lionel Messi has been crowned the World player award (Golden Ball Award ) at the FIFA Ballon d'Or gala for the third time in a row.

The Argentina and Barcelona forward Messi pipped team-mate Xavi and Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo to grab most coveted title.

Messi received 47.88 percent of the points in votes,leaving behind Cristiano Ronaldo with 21.6 percent and Xavi with 9.23 percent.votes were made by national team coaches,captains and selected reporters.

Barcelona Coach Pep Guardiola won the coach's award getting over Manchester United's Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho of Real Madrid.He was awarded for guiding Barcelona to five trophies including the Champions League, Spanish and Club World Cup.

Homare Sawa of Japan grabbed best player award overthrowing Brazilian forward Marta's five-year reign as the top player.

Santos star Neymar has been awarded the FIFA Puskas Award 2011 for his sensational goal against Flamengo, beating Lionel Messi and Wayne Rooney to the prize for greatest goal of the year.
