Vijay's Latest Movie ' Nanban' Review - Directed by Shankar - Starring Vijay ,Jeeva ,Srikanth Illena
The word 'Superb' seems to be underestimating for Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s latest movie "Nanban' which is entertaining as hell.Thanks for Shankar and crew for presenting a wonderful film blended with equal proportion of emotions and fun.It's surely a Pongal feast for cine lovers and Thalapathi fans.Expectations were high for the film as it was the official remake of Bollywood All Time Blockbuster movie '3 Idiots' and Vijay - Shankar Combination for the first time.In Nanban,Director Shankar has refined '3 idiots ' to be crispy and added tamil flavours to cheer Tamil audience.He has given us the genuine remake of 3 Idiots.It's another success for Shankar after blockbuster hit 'Enthiran' and for Vijay next to successful ' Velayutham'.
Nanban speaks about a campus story blended with friendship,love and laughter.The story revolves around the college life of three Engineering students from different backgrounds and with different perception for life.Venkatramakrishnan (Srikanth), Sevalkodi Senthil (Jeeva) and Panchavan Parivendan (Pari) (Vijay), are three engineering students who share the same room in their college.
These three friends have different goals for life.Venki is studying engineering to pursue his father's wishes over his own wish. Senthil is studying to raise his family's fortunes and get them out of poverty. On the other hand,Pari studies for his simple passion in machines and devices.Pari believes that success in studying is not achieved by solely memorising definitions given by textbooks or professors, but by understanding and applying the concepts unlike bookworm Srivatsan (Satyan), who is the pet of professor Santhanam aka Virus (Sathyaraj).The professor Virumandi Santhanam Virus has different perception about learning in contrast to Pari.Sooner,the three friends falls in trouble with Professor Viru.Meanwhile, Pari falls in love with Virus' medical student daughter Riya(Illena) which infuriates Virus.Virus labels the gang as "idiots" and continually attempts to break Pari's friendship with Senthil and Venky.Rest of the movie rolls forward with how they encounter with Venky and pursue their life goals .
It's a different Vijay that you could see in the role of Pari.He had acted brilliantly in each of the scenes and is surely a treat for Ilayathalapathy fans .Both Jeeva and Sreekanth enacted their roles beautifully.Sathyaraj as Virumandi Santhanam(Virus),has made best performances of his in recent times.Ileana as Vijay's lover is impressive and elegant.
Music by Harris Jayaraj is entertaining as well. The songs are already a hit among youngsters and music lovers and topping the charts.Manoj Paramahamsa has done elegant camera work ,adding colours to the movie.
Nanban is definitely going to be the blockbuster of the year.It's treat for cinema lovers and for Vijay fans with him in different and striking role. It's emotional drama packed with entertaining sequences. A must watch for Cine Lovers !!
