Spanish Masala Malayalam Movie Review
Spanish Masala ,Starring Dileep in lead role hit theatres on January 20th 2012.The movie is an entertainer throughout the reels and is surely going to be massive hit.The movie is directed by Veteran director Lal Jose under banner of Big Screen Productions with producer Naushad.Dileep and Lal duo is to repeat the success of sizzling combination to mesmerize the cine lovers of kerala with Spanish masala.The movie is penned by Benny P Nayarambalam.Most of the film is shot in Madrid ,the capital of Spain and is surely visual treat for Cine lovers.
The film cast includes array of veteran actors -Dileep,Kunchacko Boban ,Biju Menon and Daniela Zacherie (Austrian Actress ) in lead roles.It's second time Lal Jose is introducing foreign actress in leading role.Spanish Masala is well served feast for Cine lovers with totally fresh theme.Once again Lal Jose-Dileep duo is all set to conquer hearts of Family audiences.
The movie revolves around the life of Charlie ( Played by Dileep) ,a mimicry artist who lands up in Spain for stage performance with a troupe.Wanting to live a new life, and to fulfill this, he runs away from the group to find another job.
Later, under some circumstances, his talent for cooking gets him the job of a chef in a hotel and later for the Spanish ambassador.There he meets the ambassador's daughter (played by Daniela Zacheri).
Then reels roll forward portraying life of Camila and Rahul(played By Kunchacko Boban).Camilla has well attachement with Indian culture and tradition as her childhood was spent in India.She was looked after by maid ,Rahul's mom.She falls in love with Rahul.But fate struck her life badly as Rahul dies in an accident.Charlie bring back good old memories to her life and he falls for her.The rest of the story showcases their mutual affection and consequent events.
Dileep has lived up character of Charlie and enacted it beautifully ,cheering audiences to extreme.Kunchacko Boban and Biju Menon have done justice to their characters and put best of theirs to movie sequences.Daniela Zacheria has beautifully presented the role of spanish girl and deserves applaud for acting perfectly in an alien language for her.Nelson with refreshing comedy sequences made audiences laugh out of control.
Kudos to Lal Jose for experimenting such new and differnt theme.Lal Jose in quest of change ,succeeded to blend the beauty of Spain into reels covering the famous La Tomatino Festival, Bull fight and the Flemenco dance.Vidyasagar’s music didn't live up to expectations.Extra credits for Noushad,the producer of the movie, for venturing such different theme and also to Cinematographer Lokhanathan for capturing beautiful frames.
Overall,the movie is an entertainer and is worth a watch.It's surely a treat for Family audiences and cine lovers of Kerala.Dont miss it!
