Spend time to learn about the company .Being well informed about the company and industry provides you with a competitive edge. The interviewer would not expect the interviewee to know everything about the company, but the interviewer would expect the interviewee to know the basics of the company, such as the industry the company is in. Read up as much as possible about the company and the industry. You can also talk to people who work in the company or the industry to get a first hand feel about what drives the company and the industry.
Be cautious of Appearance
First impressions are made within the first few minutes and are very important for a successful interview.Grooming plays key role. Most employers prefer candidates wearing formal attire (Indian or western). Dress soberly and neatly. Avoid flashy clothes or strong perfumes. Jewellery should be at a bare minimum.
A well-dressed candidate leaves an excellent impression and projects the image that he or she really cares about this interview.
Be ready with required Documents and materials
The day before the interview, collect all your material and keep them in a file. Keep extra copies of your resume. Carry letters of reference, reference list, transcripts, certificates, other supporting documents, passport size photos, a writing pad, pen and a calculator.
Be able to describe your Projects ,Seminars
Go thoroughly through your projects ,seminars and thesis works if any. Be prepared to mention what is so great about your work and what you learned from it. Remember,the interviewer will analyse whether you have the ability to make him understand your work in a short period of time, and the level of importance of your work and your technical knowledge.Be prepared for question that can be asked related to your work
Admit Your Mistakes/ When You Don't Know Something
It is usually a mistake to pretend to know something that you do not, because chances are that the interviewer will follow up with questions regarding that exact topic. So avoid bluffing and be bold enough to say that you dont know in case.

1. Stay focused; put away any worries.
2. Switch off your cell phone before an interview starts.
3. Maintain Eye contact .It conveys confidence.
4. Be prepared with brief introduction of yourself.
5. Be comfortable and avoid nervous mannerisms.
6. Listen attentively .Take time to understand the question and then answer it.
7. Speak Clearly and be expressive, talk crisply and slowly.
8. Keep the answers to the point. Avoid rambling.
9. Be straightforward. Do not be evasive or beat around the bush.
10. Never lie in an interview.
11. Never blame or badmouth anyone during an interview.
12. Never argue, always give polite responses.
13. If you do not know the answer be frank, admit it.
14. Be prepared for behavioral questions.
15. Be positive and enthusiastic.
16. Ask pertinent questions. Do ask thoughtful questions. Don't ask about salary and benefits straight away.
It is essential to be confident in an interview. If you have practiced your answers and done your homework, most of the questions can be answered without difficulty.Be confident that you could it make it and keep in mind that 'There is no substitute to hardwork'.
